About LLD Specialty Sales
The business of LLD Specialty Sales is to provide a quality selling venue for the dispersal of old or unusual personal and business property. LLDSS services include appraisals and strategic planning, on-site sales, proprietary Internet auctions, and creative marketing concepts.
LLDSS is owned by Web & Jill Wilson who each began their antiques careers over 35 years ago. The antiques business back then was pretty much limited to seeking out little shops and visiting country auctions, and high tech meant stepping up to the price of a Polaroid camera. By the time they met at Brimfield, Jill’s business included estate sales, antiques show promotions, and gallery management in New York City. Web was an established writer and dealer who also ran architectural antiques auctions and maintained a stained glass restoration studio.
Web & Jill moved to Rhode Island about the time the Internet began making big changes in the antiques business, so while they kept one foot in the 19th Century they also began planting the other foot in the new millennium. They ran Internet auctions before eBay started and have built many active websites. They are founding members of AntiquesYes.com, an on line auction service designed by antiques dealers for antiques dealers and dedicated to maintaining a top quality Internet auction experience for both buyers and sellers.
Jill and Web have always retained the spirit of “the old days and the old ways” and over the years have accepted many requests to promote and manage on site sales for both residential and businesses clients. In 2004 and 2005 they managed two extraordinary on site sales for the Scalamandre Silk Company in Long Island City, NY that generated world wide publicity and led to the creation of the LLDSS website.
Antiques and old stuff has always been fun, fascinating, and attractive to an affluent market. The challenge is to design a marketing strategy built around quality, integrity, maximum publicity and minimum hassle. LLD Specialty Sales has the experience, imagination, reputation, and network of other antiques professionals to provide just such a service for the expanding antiques opportunities in the Internet Age.
